Passive Solar Design

I work with homeowners, builders, and architects throughout the United States who are interested in achieving varying degrees of energy independence in new as well as existing residences through passive solar heating and cooling. In projects requiring design work, I partner with professional architects to provide clients a full design and analysis services.

I like to work with clients early in the design stage - before blueprints are drawn - to optimize energy efficiency, maximize solar gain, specify thermal mass, and ensure year-round comfort at the lowest possible cost.

In the past two years, I've worked on residential projects in California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Wyoming, and Maryland.

Consulting Fee: $90 per hour for residential customers.

Green Building Design

I work with homeowners, builders, and architects throughout the United States who are interested in building homes that reflect their values - their care and concern for future generations and other species that share this planet with us.

I provide advice and guidance, both general and technical on a wide range of topics including: site selection, site protection, green building materials, natural building materials, energy efficiency passive solar heating, passive cooling, energy-efficient back up heating and cooling systems, day lighting, healthy building, wood-wise construction, accessibility, adaptability, earth-sheltered construction, alternative water systems, alternative waste systems, and site reclamation.

Consulting fee: $90 per hour for residential customers.
